NCAA Study Focuses on Fan Motivations & Experiences
Overview
The NCAA asked the Sports Innovation Institute to help them understand who attends the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Division I swimming and diving championships while simultaneously evaluating fan experience.
Methodology
Researchers randomly recruited fans off to participate in onsite interviews. Subjects, who were compensated for their participation, spent ten minutes with researchers, who evaluated motivational factors and event experiences. Data was analyzed and synthesized into categorical groups for the client.
Deliverables
Information about who attends these events and why they participate was presented. Easy and affordable solutions were shared with the client that if implemented, could positively impact fan experience. Recommendations for future evaluation of fan experience were provided.
